Painted Lady

Quite a common Butterfly to see,It particularly likes dry open areas .This species actually migrates from North Africa each spring.Painted Lady’s have a wing span of  50-56mm. Its caterpillars eat thistles, mallows, nettles,vipers bug-loss as well various other plants.

Marble White

Also well known as Cabbage White,its caterpillars are not the gardeners best friend.In my own garden whole plots of kale have been ravaged by this butterfly’s offspring.So next time you see this butterfly around your garden watch out!
